Sierra Sunset 111016-182317-Mk4-3275, 82, 85 and 86
This is a stiched mosaic made from several images. I made the images from a spot overlooking Mono Lake, where I encountered another traveler. We enjoyed the evening conversing as I tended my cameras, simultaneously making images of this Sierra Sunset and of Mono Lake. As the sun sank below the crests of the range, the undersides of the clouds blazed and took on this apocalyptic appearance. My friend was facing away from this scene, so I simply said "Look". He turned, and seemed as overpowered as I by this incredible light.
